Scat push-pull linkage question

I've got the Scat universal push-pull linkage for my new 2017 and I installed it last night. One minor issue, though, I've run into is interference with the pivot and the two rods that go to each carb. The linkage tends to lock open at wide open throttle due to the heim joint of the number 1/2 side interfering with the billet upright block upon which the pivot twists. There were no bushings included in the kit, but it appears I'm going to have to shim the pivot upwards in order to keep this interference from happening... just checking to see if others have had this issue, or if there's something I've overlooked from my installation?

As an update I read on the Samba that a couple guys had to grind on the brace piece that bolts to the fan shroud in order for the 1/2 side throttle rod to clear, so I guess I found my answer.

Just Installed this setup on a customers Kadron setup. Same issue had to do some grinding on the center link brace. Also had to shim the 1-2 arm down to clear the generator stand. The kit has a couple hangups but not to shabby for the price.

How did you guys mount the spring that comes with the kit? The directions dont' address this, either...

I drilled a hole in the alternator and used a spring from a 30 Pict-3.

To jump on the bandwagon, I notched the support to the shroud on mine. Also think I did some work to the base block, but don't remember exactly what. I think it was to fit to the case better. Otherwise, it works quite well.

i got it fixed on the shroud by opening the support, made a rightwards U instead of the O so to speak.
and i used exactly the same spring as John showed but hooked it up on the lower opening of my generator. the spring was a little too tough, though.
