Ive got a genuine vw 200mm flywheel i am going to get my local machine shop to resurface, lighten and 8 dowell.
Ive bought the drilling jig, butwhat size do I need to ask them to drill the extra 4 holes to (ream)
Its going on a 82mm cb crank if that makes any difference?

Check the Berg site. They had great instructions including drill and ream sizes for those units, with the ones they sold. Problem is getting the proper crush. I think th next one I do I'll ream the assembly to 5/16 then use an undersized 8mm on the crank to get crush.

I use a 7,9mm drill bit on both the crank and flywheel.
The 8mm dowels will get a tight fit in the crank without any other work. And won't come loose if done right. Remember to slightly countersink the holes before mounting the dowels.
Use a 8mm reamer to finish of the holes in the flywheel. A slight countersink is recommended here also..

Second that. I also use a 7,9mm drill to do the 4 extra dowells. I did it last time yesterday and measured the dowells to 7,96mm. They will not drop in, but a light tap with the hammer will drive them in and position them snugly. The hole is usually a bit larger than the nominal 7,9mm.
When getting the drill, shop for one that is precision grinded.

And keep the dowels in the freezer overnight. Makes life a bit easier.
