Hi guys, I'm here again. I'm the owner of the webiste about Sprintstars!!!!

http://sprintstar.blogspot.com/

I just wanted to tell you that I'm really sorry if I haven't updated the website for almost 2 years, but I sold my beetle and I partially lost interest in the aircooled VW world.

Anyway, now I'm here again. I decided not only to start updating the blog again, but I have also in mind a lot of great ideas to improve the blog.

I want it to become the biggest resource on the web for sprintstars wheels, with technical information, with the pics of your cars, with your questions and answers and maybe with a Sprintstar community too!

I've just begun changing the appearance of the blog, so you will probably notice a bit of mess in these days, but there are already new posts and new beautiful pics so please come and visit us!!! Your visits are my greatest reward.

Of course the website is totally free. If you want to help me making the blog bigger and better you can just click on the ads on the page. It's free and fast for you but of great importance for the blog growth Smile

Some of the most important new features up to now (with MUCH more still to come):

- New home page appearance

- New facebook page (please come and visit it, leaving a comment!!!!)

http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=lf#!/pages/International-Sprintstar-Wheels-Registry/122801101131291

- New email address: sprintstarwheels@gmail.com
You can send the pics you want to publish to this mail address, or keep attaching them to this post

What do you think about it? Do you like it? Will you come and visit us?

Well I think I have to say again I'm sorry for the 2 year silence. I kept all your emails, and day by day I'll post the pics I received in these 2 years on the blog, included the ones you attached to this post.

So, once again, come and visit us!!!! http://sprintstar.blogspot.com/

Hi there,

First I would change about your blog is the picture on top of your page, using reproduction sprintstars as a model.  If you wanna have the best webpage in the world, then you will have to use good pictures to attract that.  Anyway, It may help you, hereby a picture of my original fully restored chromed 5-lug Empi Sprintstars.

Love it! Mine is the Texas Yellow GTV you pictured a few years back.

The only issue I have is that you have repro Sprints pictured at the top of the page! Grin

I know I know... I have to work on that banner, but I'm not good at graphics so I have to try little by little... don't worry I'm working on it :-)

Great website!!

Sprintstars are one of my favourite 4-bolt wheels.  I used to run a set of four original 1968 4.5" EMPI Sprintstars, but have now switched to 5.5" (on the rear) to get more rubber on the road.  Currently using M&H 215's for some 1/4-mile racing, but also still street drivable. The caps are originals.

I had the wheels blasted, primered, enamel painted in the original colours and then clear-coated.  Feel free to add this photo to your registry website:

Neil, I know your car is swingaxle, so I wanted to ask, did you change over to a short axle? It appears that your 5.5"s fit well in the fender wells.

I have a '69 (IRS) and I tried to use original 5.5"s with 185/70s and the tires stuck outside of the fender. It just didn't look Cal-Look and I wasn't keen on having the fender lip rub the tread when the rear came down.

Mine was the same way with rear discs and 165's so I narrowed the trailing arms 26mm and used 2 left side type 3 auto axles. Now the wheels are tight back where they're supposed to be.

Yes, I switched to short axles ('66 length).  I was fortunate to find some of the older SAW race axles before they shifted production to China...

Thanks Neil! I figured that was what you had to have done, I know I would have.  By the way, I love your car! Epitomizes the look I'm going with my '69. Smiley

Zach, that's what I've been thinking of doing. Do you have any pictures of your car with that combination? The only thing really stopping me from doing it is I have a pair of SAW axles that are waiting to be installed in the car. I was hoping to use them, but they can be used for another project. Thanks!

Does anyone manufacture a lighter, narrowed diagonal arms? Made with chromoly tubing, similar to the widened ones for the off-roaders, just narrowed for us Cal-Lookers.
