D.B.O. Not a club; a state of mind.

« on: April 30, 2011, 19:23:07 pm »

Arrived at Nick's early to enjoy some lunch with Mr. Rayburn.

Solitude before the event.

Perfect weather too.

This year's event was very cool... D.K.P. took in donations for the recent disasters in Japan.

After a donation, a dash plaque was received.

Currently, my favorite Squareback. Less is more and it more than rings true in this instance.

Bird's eye view.

Same vantage point... different bird.

I dig seeing things from my childhood still alive and well in this day and age.

Cal Look VWs, anyone?

Hi, I'm an orange stripe that says, 'Yes... I am new and ready for horsepower to carry out my related duties, such that they are."

One of the best and meanest looking Cal Lookers of all time, methinks.

Parting shot.

Thank you, Panzers, for putting on another fun gathering and extra credit for the worthy cause, as well. Please feel free to post up more pictures and stories on this post, everybody. Tero, Sanda, Tom, Eddie, Frenchy, Kobus, Keith, and anyone else I forgot... very nice talking with you all. See you later, this weekend, I'm sure.

Thanks, Nico. I still have two of the frames from when they were on my motorhome (1991-2003) back when my second home was San Onofre State Beach. Glad that I hung on to those... the new ones are plastic with only two bolts. Got the metal ones when I joined the San-O club in 1990.

One more shot from Nick's... just when I think it's safe, Rayburn somehow gets into my brain and makes things a reality. REALLY digging on the Bosch distributor, my friend! Completes that good lookin' engine bay, too.

True on one hand, Fabian, but it was just as fun and most of us enjoyed the absence of things being overly crowded and hectic.

Sounds like a nice night, couldn't make it, worked late and by the time I got home from L.A., was to late to do anything. Will John (DKP) be taking donations at Bug-In for Japan? Good deal guy's, hats off to ya for the help for our over sea neighbors. If taking donations, will be more than happy to give to help. See all at Bug-In!

Ted, and anyone that would like to donate to the disaster relief in Japan. I will be at Bug - In accepting the donations. The funds are going directly to a special fund set up by the Red Cross in Japan that is putting 100% of the proceeds into the relief. You can donate any amount you like, but you will receive a plaque, as a thank you, for  a minimum $10.00 donation. Thank you everyone for helping out!

I missed posting Nick's pix somehow.... probably something to do with my age.  Anyway, here's a couple to add to the mix.
