Hi to all!
If you remember I have also a 1960 ragtop, but due to the fact that I moved to Germany for work and at the moment I don't have space and time to start with a great restoration, last week I bought another one almost ready to use and that don't needs welding jobs.
Till 2003 the first owner had it, then arrived a man friend of my family that bought for the daughter but in those 7 years the car waited my arrive on the jacks in a garage making only 700km.
The car is a my 1965, original plates, no welds anywhere, 95% original like VW create it (original 1200 motor, rims, interior, etc).
Last week I worked 6 daysX10h changing the front beam (taked from 1960), restoring brake system, roller bearings, checking motor and cleaning the floors; after that the cars moved from Italy to Germany (910kms) without a problem.

The project is create a can look finding a little bit used parts because I think that the new ones will not fit very well the harmony of the car (used stewart werner gauges, berg shift, next year a new motor and go on). There is still a lot of thing to fix like remove the chromes on fenders, put the correct beige running boards, fixing some minor electric problems but step by step will be almost perfect.

Here some pics of the cars and the jobs  Grin and see you on the roads and obviously to the EBI 4!!!

Removing the beam from the 1960

I like it but would really like to see it with a set of Porsche nipple caps on it.

Thanks to all  Wink

Concerning the muffler, your're right! I think remove the pipes will be the next step because the look of the back with them it's not so exciting...  Roll Eyes
