You mean apart from the OEM VW muffler? 4 open pipes, no collector, all tuned length ending in a large-volume resonant chamber?
Well setting off with the pipe bender to follow in VWs footsteps is not something I consider easy. The stock pipes are far from round (heat exchangers) but there is no doubt that it works.
Most people would have a tough time to justify fabricating and tweaking to get a homebuilt OEM system to work. I think Volkswagen had quite different resources, and could therefor place
packing on the top of there priority list.
We don't mind the exhaust showing, or that it takes half an hour to fit.
The point about the missing collector is a interesting one, some claim they are hugely important, but some of the most power full bike engines lack them altogether.
