...South central Colorado in the Weminuche Wilderness/San Juan National Forest (between Creede and Platoro).

Was there last week, on a backpacking and flyfishing trip with a buddy. Weather and scenery were awesome, but the weight of my backpack/body and thin air at altitude made me realize how out of shape that I am. Here are a few pics:

Nice meadow with a ton of dandelions


High view of one of the creeks that we fished


Changing flies after getting a few looks/refusals by picky fish


Backcountry camping site - set on a nice soft bed of pine needles


Another alpine meadow, and some of the late season snow which delayed the start of our trip


Grove of tall aspen trees


My rod, reel, and a nice rainbow trout that I caught
(it went back into the creek right after I took the pic -- catch and release!)

Awesome morning view, just around the corner from one of our campsites
