Well hello to everyone, I have not been on here much over the last few weeks/months as I have been busy sorting out my "new life" here in Norway
I did make it down to EBI4 but I only got to talk to a few of you, Sorry to all those I missed - I am sure we'll catch up soon,
I've been here a little over 3 months now and everything is going REALLY well - I am now happy to announce that I am working with the Guys at Norwegian Hammerworks (
http://www.norwegianhammerworks.no)
This really is a dream come true for me, its an AWESOME place and I am learning ALOT of new skills inc TIG welding
I've been restoring an old MGA chassis/frame, Restoring some original Oval fenders/wings as well as working on some really cool 50's/60's0's/70's/80's Yank Muscle/classic Cars - Everything from Mustangs, Chargers, Mercury's to Desota's and Corrvette's
But the Cherry on the Cake has to be my new Daily Driver which my new friends Thomas & Gunner have been kind enough to lend me (until I decide to buy it that is!) I am using it EVERY day rain or shine
Its a 1951 Crotch Cooler Split, Built in September 1951 its only had 4/5 owners in it life and its only covered 13,000km's since 1979!!!! Its 99.9% original with only a very few incorrect parts, Its still 6v and running on 16x3 Crossply's - It was re-painted some time between 77-79 at which time it had "oval type" rear lights fitted but the ORIGINAL 51-52 lights have been re-fitted - It was only painted on the outside (60's Sea-Blue I think
) and still wears its ORIGINAL 1951 paint on the inside with all its 60 years of patina and even the little rubber covers for the crotch cooler levers!!!!!!
Its still running its ORIGINAL CRASH gearbox which took a little getting used to but now I got the hang of it, oh yeah and its NEVER been welded!!!! Its had 3 repairs over its life (2 to the floorpan and 1 to the front bulkhead) BUT they have all been "Screwed on
This really is one of those cars if you get what I mean - I just gotta find some cash
But the question is....... Could I really bring myself to turn it into a Cal Looker
