Because the east coast just had one. Originated near Richmond, VA (5.8 on the scale) and easily felt many miles to the north here in central Pennsylvania, and beyond. VERY unusual feeling for the area.  |

Bates is right — getting a little bit of everything this year. As for earthquakes vs. other natural disasters, if you can no longer trust the very ground you walk on, what's left???

Heck a 5.9 is barely enough to make me stop drinking my latte  And Mark when I worked at the BAP/Geon store in Santa Ana, a tornado blasted up Main St. It took off the roof and sign from the appliance store across the street. I'm sure it was minor by Midwest standards though. |

I know all about swap coolers  We run one all summer long at my current shop (Prescott, AZ), but at the moment it's raining cats and dogs so it's about as useful as tits on a warthog At the moment I'm more concerned with keeping my car locked up! |
