I run an 86b in my 2056 type 4 motor in my van. That thing is (was before I killed it) great fun. Below 4000rpm it drove nicely. @ about 4000 it really kicked in:-) ran my bus to 15.3 sec at santa pod raceway.
May be different in a shorter stroke motor. Not sure exactly how though...
What size valves / carbs. Etc are you using?

As usual, it all depends on the combo. You can yank a 86b in there and end out with a lousy torque curve and maybe 125 hp. You can also use say the 494 or the 9530 and have super usable torque and 130+ on top.
We need to know more about the rest of the pile to make even a decent recommendation.

But in general, a 86b in a 1910 is rather wild.

The 163/86b is most likely your ticket. But as said, the rest matters, big time.

Hi guys.
My spec is
66 stroke
96 barrel n pistons
44 webers (not purchaced yet)
New AMC heads un modified).39x33.3
BAS Header (not purchased yet)
Unsure on compression as need to know which cam
All ballanced bottom end. ARP rod bolts
I have read that some of the cams require dual springs ,but looking at the valve guide boss
after they have been cut for duals there isnt much material supporting the guide, and with the outlay
on a new set of heads i dont really want to cut the guide bosses , is this going to limit the performance
potential of the engine by limiting which cam i can use or is ther a good set of single valve springs i can use with the cam's that need to be
used with duals
I was thinking about the 163/86b grind but that needs duals
Any advice on my engine spec is much appreciated or even change it to make it work for me.
I'm looking for the best combo on this size motor as its the cc am going to stick with and only
want to build it once.Engine going in a stripped out beetle for street use.(not an every day driver)
