I hope the owner do not mind me answering your question. His car is among my all time favourites and those of us that have visited SCC have had the pleasure of seeing it in action. His driving style is what I would describe as entertaining  Smiley

The car is of course from Turbo Town, Sweden which is famous for the fast turbo cars and this car is among the fastest and have won the street legal cup several times. I do believe that his fastest ET with the little 1641ccm engine is so far 10.18 - 135 mph.

He posted the specs on a Swedish forum:

Built on left over parts:

Orginal crank, no counterweights
CB h-profile 5,5"
Mahle 87mm pistons and barrels
Single relief case
Fk-89
lube a lobe lifters
Cromolly pushrods
scat 1,4:1 rockers
Deep sump
Orginal heads, ported but with original valves 35/32,5mm

1 5/8 header
Small air/air intercooler
HX35 turbo 56mm and 3" exhaust.
1600cc injectors and E85
Autronic SM4 ECU with MSD 8245 coils

He dyno'd 392hp at the last JPM dyno day with one ported head and one original head.

Turbo town action and the winner is a small 1641ccm engine:

Yes the final against the 1000+hp BMW would have been cool if the BMW managed the start. I like better the 3rd race where it starts drifting in 3rd gear.

Here it is in daylight and in slow motion:

He is doing some refining for this season with 044 heads, slightly larger valves. More power? hehe  If you come to Kjula in Sweden to Turbo Town Shootout on the 18th - 19th of June  you will see it in person a long with a bunch of fast other bugs ( sorry had to  Wink )

OK that's it!

I got so inspired by the movies that I decided to build something similar from some of the parts I have lying around. I will use the same turbo system, ECU and Aeromotive fuel system that is on my current 2332ccm engine and take it from there. It will be a cheap'o engine and my budget is $10 per hp.  Smiley

Thinking of Los Banditos heads from CB, Mahle pistons and barrels, original crank, a old Sune Janson cam and lifters that I have from the first stroker build, original flywheel + +

I also have a second turbo set just sitting here and I might build two engines so that I have one in spare when the first one blows at 30+ psi of boost  Cool

Thanks for the inspiration Niklas!

I'd love to know more about it too, but I can't imagine it being to easy to drive on the street with an FK89 and such a small capacity! Grin

 Smiley

The owner is here from time to time and maybe he can tell you a little more about how it is to drive? What I do know now is that he handed over the keys to the car to a friend on the last turbo town race and he won the entire race  Smiley The specs are posted above here and apart from those it is a real street car with a t1 gearbox. I know he changed the cam to a FK87 - 112 together with the heads to 044 and the engine produced a little less HP. Thats why he is now changing back to the FK89 again. I hope he will be ready for the Kjula race in September.

To bring this thread back to the top again:

Case is ready, the DPR crank is balanced to 0 together with the whole lot and I have all the parts needed. Going to put the engine together this week and I will keep you posted.

Hello
I'm also inspired by this thread - I'm building a 1914cc turbo engine - stock case, crank, wiseco 94mm pistons, ported heads with 40x37 valves. I'm waiting for a special turbo cam with different intake and exhaust lobes and less overlap as I don't like the idea of putting a big n/a cam into a turbo motor.

Did some work on my fuel tank and it now got a "catch tank" inside it where the filter for the Aeromotive in-tank fuel pump will be located. Used lead solder to make sure it does not leak.

[ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]

I decided to use some 044 heads with 40x35.5 valves in combination with Oteva valve springs. I`m going to keep the out-of the box volume in the chamber and I removed the part of the exhaust valve guide that is visuable in the exhaust port but that`s about it with the exhaust port. A un-ported 044 intake will flow around 120 cfm at 10mm lift and up to 130 cfm at 14mm (in 25") and I tried to improve this a little by doing simple, traditional things with the port. My hope is that the boost will be able to breath some life to the poor heads.
