Indeed a very cool car to start with.  It has less rust than most of the VW Golf III models running around Belgium.  It's always nice to start from a good car with not to many KM done.  I started restoring my 1966 beetle with 97000 km driven from 1966 till 1972 (last tech controle card came with the car) and that helps to get an easy resto (hey it was my first one, so it had to be easy).  I know the difference because the 1957 lowlight is an other story  Roll Eyes

Deano behind the wheel at EBI. What a great road trip that was!

And finally in its former life...

And now the next chapter is about to begin… Cool

Your car looked VERY nice with those 8-spokes on Mark,I love it.
I think it's time to build a "replica" of it,don't you?

Thanks, you guys.

It would be really easy for me to build a replica of that car... but I'd rather find the original car and it's plates.

Wow, Tero! For a second, I thought that was my car. Love the wheels on that.

Died, yes... I had Vee Dub Seat Covers (Suzy) stitch the entire interior in brown naugahyde. Then, I installed a black carpet kit in the cabin and also he trunk. It was very plain, the way I wanted it, 'cause most people were going with the cloth inserts and I wanted to be different.

Mark, are you on a night shift?
Sounds good. I'm usually not a big fan of dark-ish interiors but this one must have looked good. An orange car doesn't leave any options colourwise, and brown is not the most obvious choice of all. Nice!
p.s. any news on that VIN #? Wink

No night shift... talking with an old friend and ready to go to bed. The v.i.n. can't be checked by my friends and relatives in law enforcement. There is one more place where I might have some luck.

Now I can re-use the joke in Leasure Suit Larry; "it's covered in naugahyde - wonder how many Naugas had to give their all."  Grin
