How much should I expect to pay to have a set of 94mm type 4 barrels bored to 96mm? Any ideas?

Hi Eddie,
club mate Otto and me asked some companies to bore some 94mm Type 1 mahle cylinders to 95mm and got quotes of ~60€ per cylinder incl. the honing.

A little off topic, but I've been wondering if a 96 bore could be shoehorned into a type one, reliably. Standard heads, of course. Gives you 2 liters without stroking!

What is the standard procedure to bore the cylinders? I always thougth they were bored like inline engines, but then I saw a video where Harley cylinders were "bored" on a lathe and then honed the usual way. In case someone has done it on a lathe it would be nice to know what bits to use at what speed. I have a set of 90mm that will grow to 90,5 at some point to accomodate low crown type1 pistons. Since they need to be shortened anyway it would be convenient to also bore them on the lathe.

I bore cylinders in a special made jig in the lathe and hone them afterwards on my sunnen hone machine..
I charge 300 euroes for 4 cylinders...
