Re-painting a 010

Anyone have a suggestion on what type of paint is the best to match the original 010 body color paint.

I brushed bacon fat all over mine and put it in the oven at 400°F for two hours. Not "factory correct," but it smelled awesome!

And what did you serve it with?  

Otherwise I used semi-gloss black spray paint, applied in thin coats and oven baked. If you want a different look, mate an 010
with a VJR 383 dist. You'll need the cam, cap & rotor from the old-timer.

I did this one back in 78', probably still works  



Side note;  
For those of you noticing obvious technical flaws, I apologize. At the time I didn't know what an Okrasa motor was supposed to look like.

I have a few new German dark brown caps.

I also have NOS but they are stupid expensive for a "wear item".

Bacon fat?  No way!  Here on the west coast we use coco butter then sun bake.  :-). As for the pant recommendations, I was looking for a preferred brand recommendation.

Of the (5) screws on the NOS 010, (3) are yellow zinc and (2) are silver. I have another NOS 010 that has all silver zinc screws.

Glenn, have you ever come across any early distributors that were parkerized? I have one or two that are (at least were) black but they don't have a lick of paint on them. My apologies for going a bit off topic...

Never, i've done early 343Ts, all VW, Mercedes, Volvo, Porsche, Alfa and BMW and all were painted.
