A fabricators good friend....

I've had this "OLD RELIABLE" Victor pattern torch for over 25 years. I recently completely took it apart rewiring the motor drive, lead power cords, etc. It still cuts brackets as good as it did years ago. If you know how to set your heat ranges and torch speed, you get great results. Here are a couple shots of me using it to make some caster brackets for my new buggy frame jig I'm building. Using 800 lb capacity casters (6) on the jig. Could set a full size bus on the frame jig when done (but won't be trying it). :-)

If you have a shop short on room but have a good size drive area, build all your stuff so it is on wheels. While I have a larger than most 3 car garage, it still does not have the room I would like. Will do something about that in the next couple years but until then, wheels on all my large shop items is a must. Just a few examples. My fixtures all have wheels on them so I can move things back into my shop quickly when done working for the day. Makes for setting up and taking things down being a lot quicker.

I am looking out at my drive right now and it's 10c and raining! All the castors in the world wouldn't get me out in that! You have a climate to envy Rick! Can you do me a favour and take a close up pic of the gas torch on your cutting machine. Really interested as in twenty five years of fabricating I have never come across one of those! Way cool

Hey All Torque...will click off a few shots of my pattern torch and post it with the model number for you. It has served me well for many years. I was going to set up a plasma type cutter but the cost was just too much for what I am doing. I have a friend with a water cutter that I have cut things for me if I am using aluminum or other type materials. This torch, with the right settings and flame pattern (heat) was used by many fabricators for decades before the plasma and water cutters came along.

Hey Brew...I may make it to the Friday night cruise in this week. I need to see how much I get done Friday on a commercial spillway project I am fabricating. Will stay in touch with you.
