Hi Everyone , I've been wanting to try this for a while , this is the US spec 67 I bought from BRM Mark here on the Lounge , I put a 2 inch narrowed beam on it and fitted the wheels off Ned Bug . I think it looks awesome , with great stance . What do you guys think ?
Cheers Rob

Looking good but think you should go down a tiny bit more at the front

It needs to go down an inch at the back . I put a long block in it , but it needs the rest of the weight and to settle . Its deceptive , I can see why you say lower at the front , lots of space above the tyres . But when you see it in person you'll see it is pretty low , the frame head is only 3 inches off the deck !
Thinking about putting short axles on the back and using my Douglas 15x7 spun ali rims off the back of my buggy .
Plan is to weld up the trim holes and paint just the outside in the original Java green, but since fitting the wheels I like it just as it is .
Cheers , Rob

IMHO, the small wheel looks odd in a large opening. Given the option, I would use a 15 or 16 in. wheel and a short tire.

It was a bargain , and BRM Mark is a really nice guy , kept the car over winter for me in a nice dry garage . Just needs two tiny bits of welding . What does 'iirc' mean ? Cheers , Rob That 67 ended up at a bargain price iirc?

Rob, when it comes to 13" DDS wheels or the like here's an example.

Just don't go too tall on the rear tyres IMO.

Is this car going to be a street car? Will it be driven in traffic and on the highway / freeway? Keep in mind that these wheels were probably intended for race use, on a smooth straight track. These are small, lightweight wheels made of thin gage aluminum. This type of wheel may not be the best choice for regular use. Be careful! How well will the car stop with small wheels and tires like that on the front of an already light car? The wheel are probably rare and worth money as well and regular raod use could damage them.
Sorry to be a worry wart, I just would hate to see someone get hurt driving their car. Wheels do look cool though. My $0.02

Hi Jeff Appreciate your input , Yes it will be a street car , and I may fit my de-tuned race motor . My 13 inch fronts are not DDS , not sure what they are . But they are a heavy guage , much heavier than the street weight Ercos on the back . I was thinking that a smaller wheel should allow a bigger/wider tyre . I will stick with drums , I don't see the point of discs on a car with skinny tyres. Thanks , Rob
