cool covers, saw them too. probably an open door, but the design must allow for lower head temperatures, i suppose (?)

I know veined rocker covers do help with head temp , but i not seen anything that extreme before .
I suppose they allow a bit extra room inside for high lifters ?

glenn, i translated this with google translate (hence some of the funny sentences) :
From the estate of Heinz Willibald Tuning is decided, partly out of emotional reasons, one of his latest developments / projects still available to the beetle fanatics as a salut.
These are very special Typ1 VW valve covers that are specifically designed / developed by Heinz for engines with high power load in duration (ie autobahn / race). There are only 3 prototypes made, shortly after Heinz is deceased (2010) and the molds and prototypes for his heirs arrived.
The huge and sophisticated alloy fins maximize heat transfer to the atmosphere at high engine load. Sealing by means of a Viton cord makes it possible to realize a maximum contact surface with the cylinder head, and yet to be sealed.
In collaboration with the then standing close friend and right hand of Heinz (Klaus Geier, omg. Serres Germany) I want an interest in this poll or registration organize.
With enough interest there may be a small production run turning this valve covers from the original molds.
The production of these covers is anything but cheap and there is used by Klaus at a price of EU 250, - per set. This is at the required minimum inclination to mather to be able to maximize production.
The more enthusiasm, the lower the final price may be.

67 Indeed:
Thank you for posting this, that advertisement on the dutch forum was placed by me, did not put up an advertisement on the cal-look.no forums yet.
I guess i should have...?
These valve covers were one of the last projects (2009-2010) from the house of Heinz Willibald Tuning. I had good contact with
Heinz in his last years and his close friend and right-hand Klaus. Klaus came up with the idea to take these valve covers to production
as a salut to Heinz. Plus, it won't get any better than this, a loss for the community if left unfinished....
Heinz reported a drop in CHT in the range of about 7-14 degree C on highly loaded, high power engines with this design.
(the more power, the more heat in the heads, the more such additional cooling measures make sense)
I'd like to press on the fact that this advertisement is for gathering interested people only, these valve covers
never entered production, only 3 prototypes and the molds were made.
Klaus needs at least 5-6 sets 'sold' to make the production anything near affordable.
If any information is needed, or you'd like to 'sign up' for a set please contact me by PM/Mail or Klaus Geier through the ebay germany advertisement.
Thanks for reading!

small bump up
so far 2 people (out of 5 needed) applied for a set.
at 5 sets were looking at EU 250 per set, might get less at a larger prod. run.
The summer is coming!

I remember seeing a similar set (not quite as extreme) on a VW- Engined Machine that was used in a nearby Vineyard.
This would have been about 1978ish?
It came into the VW Dealership (the engine) as an emergency, when it packed up during harvesting.
Two mechanics worked on it overnight and had it working by morning.
