I was gonna run that size on the early 6" alloys that I'm using, but ended up going with a 65% profile instead. Hankook was the brand I chose. Tire Rack or any decent brick & mortar tire store will be more than happy to let you compare the different heights/widths that you're after. My local store (Rolling Tires) in Bellflower did that and when I saw how tall those 70% tires were, I changed my mind. To each their own.

What front tire are you going to using? Maybe you can find a matching tread.

Welcome back from BFE.

Short axle's, 311 drums, erco 6's and a 6x26 slick with a 1 inch trans raise. I considered changing to a 215/65 radial, but settled on 6x26 M&H dots. Better suites

Or for 140€ a pair, you can afford Federal SS731, low quality but a nice look with a smooth side. (the white lettering is home made)

+1 if you get the ones with a higher speed rating you can flip them on the rim and have a nice smooth sidewall.

Here's my problem.... Front tires are Smart Car Continentals on 4.5 DDS, and rears have short axles, but T3 drums.... I'm running a DDS 6" wheel and with DOT M&Hs, they stick way out... I just put the rear fenders on and it looks like crap. The DDS wheel offset is not cool with those T3 drums. So, back to the drawing board.

if that is the case, how about good ol' 165r15? Grin
yes that would mean you'd run wider tyres up front, but that fact surprised me a lot already. aren't those much too square-looking on a 4.5" DDS?

Have you thought about a 75 205 15 ? these were Avon's

Their taller than a 70 mine were 26" , but you won't suffer from the bulge .
I would normally suggest XWX 70 which i now run but that would sit the same as a DOT M/H

my 2 cents  Undecided

I just had to spring for new rubber on the back of my rig after running over a piece of metal the other day.  Why is it that a tire NEVER punctures in a spot that can be patched?? Angry  I chose Michelin Pilot Exalto 205/65R15.  These have served me very well on the '99 Passat so decided to try them on the back end of the '67.  Short axles, Type III drums, and Flat4  5" wide BRMs.  Like DKK FRED pointed out, I don't care for the sluggishness of the taller 70 series tires.  Good luck, Deano!

Pirelli P6000's in the same 205/65 size... still had a third left to go, too. Sad

Bummer, Dean. Silly query... I'm guessing your tires sticking too far out near the fender width is due to the T3 and/or the offset or lack of back-spacing of the D.D.S. wheels? Either way, I hope that you're able to sort it all out.

Yes, a little of both. I have some new 6" aluminum wheels from B&R Buggies that have a better offset, so once I get those ready to mount, I want to get some 205s and try that combination. After seeing all the 205/65s, I may go with that size, instead of the 70 series. The bad part is the DDS rear wheels will not make the program... Damn.

That's a bummer 'bout the D.D.S. wheels not working out on the back. But at least you have the B&R option. Whatever the case, looking very forward to seeing it when you get it all dialed in.

My ancient pirelli's are also 205/65 15 and I have M&H DOT's 215/65 15 mounted on 6" CMS wheels. I like the meaty look of my 215's more than the pirelli's but the rims they are on have proper backspacing. Have you thought of trying the 215's on the other wheels you have?  Also I'd love to see some shots of your progress on the '67.
