Anyone know what there rules are for helmets? M2005 or SA2005 ratings. I know some tracks require SA rating. Was looking at a M2005 but just want to make sure....

Thanks...

They have always checked mine,which is SA2005,its good to any ET,but I cant tell you if they will let you run with a Motorcycle helmet in a car or not[that is what a M2005 is isnt it? ]

Thats what I thought too about the M2005 but, a guy on the samba that is selling it said it was a drag helmet. I will stick with a SA2005. just wanted someone that raced there knew for sure before I pulled a trigger on a helmet.

Thanks Richie.....

As per NHRA rules:
"any car running 14.00 and quicker in the 1/4 mile requires a Snell 2005 or newer OR SFI 41.1A helmet". Also a new NHRA rule in 2008 requires that "any car running 9.99 or quicker in the 1/4 mile requires an NHRA approved FULL face helmet with visor.

The Snell rating is the important part, possibly not the M or SA ...  Huh

Hope it helps  Wink

Actually, SA = Special Application

M = Motorcycle
K = Karting

There are more:
http://www.smf.org/cert

Like I mentioned, I'd check NHRA ... and I believe the minimum requirement is Snell (XXX)-2005

Yup, he is going to be running O/T if he makes the field. I bought some RCI  Platinum Series belts. They are supose to have a free re-webbing with them, making them good for 4 years.

Just an FYI since your in CA,  Crow will re-web belts of theirs. Rather inexpensive also and they are in orange, if I'm not mistaken.
