Seeing all the cars over the weekend  got me motived. OK, it was for only 15-20 minutes, but boy was I motivated

Installed my NEW pushrod tubes. Nice pieces

Was going a final valve train check and I've kept looking at my push rods and how much the adjusters are out on rocker arms, (new cam has a slightly smaller base circle on it) and with them out that far it takes the PR's real close to the head. So called Mr. Guru himself, Scot Fetherolf, and asked him what he has in his killer engine and he directed to Aircooled.net for a set of their super whammy dual tapper Aluminum push rods. Ordered a set of 11.5" and then called Mr Don Pauter himself and ordered 4 new adjusters to replace some that had gotten dinged up. The Parts are coming and should be here by Friday

Man, I've been a sick puppy this past week --- without going into a lot of details, lets just say I lost 20 pounds in two days, and 3 days after .. .. my ribs still hurt too much to laugh/cough/sneeze......

BUT the engine is done and I've cleaned up the garage (folded up my engine assembly area into it's corner) and I'm ready to move the Ghia into the disassembly area..... (This is normally a 2 hour job but recovering from my goo, it has taken me two days)

Got the tape measure out and the 2919 measures just under 34 inches across without any intakes or exhaust .... and the engine bay of the ghia is at 28 inches --- --- something is gonna have to give here ...... Might get the neighbors to help me push the ghia off the trailer and into the garage tomorrow, so I can start tearing (cutting) into the project -- time is getting real tight.

Yesterday was a running around getting parts kind of day went to MC Motorsports in Ontario CA and picked up a set of 4 custom-made 15mm spacers so I can get those phone dials mounted where they need to be -- turn around time from order 4 days, NICE --

Then went over acheck on some of the competion for the salt -- a couple of pictures

I want one of these stickers -- this car should have one of the new 400 mph club stickers on it

Next was a stop to see Marty Staggs at turbosmart, he has been making me a new set of intakes, powder coater is behind on getting the hats coated by I'm digging what Marty did for me -- --

old ones on top -- new ones on bottom

Oh by-the-way -- with the spacers I've got 225 fitting under the Ghia with no rubbing

Yesterday's accomplishment -- -- -- 2 - 5/8" .060 wall fuel lines running the length of the car -- Was kinda of worried above crushing these lines by going over a speed bump or something, but after spending a day trying to bend these damn things I don't think I have much too worry about -- -- LOL

this also shows the front trans mount for the 901 and the rear anti-sway bar

Geeeeeez -- -- 11am and it is already 100* today --- got the car setting on all four and decided to roll it back out of the garage and check it's stance, make sure I hadn't screwed anything up, and to clean the garage under the car to get ready for phase 2 --- took a couple of pictures to prove I'm working on it LMAO

I believe I've got the front trunk area mocked up just about where I want it -- -- Ordered a few more Fittings, like a 180* -10 at the far end of the fuel pump, to clean it up.... Need to finalize how I'll mount the battery box, you can just see the top of it..... kind of playing with a few ideas in my head still .. ..

Have been very uncomfortable with the release latch mechanism for the hood and have been afraid to close the hood LOL -- was talking to Lance yesterday and he thought of using a parachute release lever and a morse cable .. .. Damn .. that sounded so cool, so those parts were ordered. Thanks Lance

Damn car is still to slow, got one of the doors blown off it yesterday, soooo  it's back up on jack stands for more modification -- -- LOL

Crazy day at work --- working near Blythe CA at a solar plant being built, (this 300+ miles a day of commuting and getting up at 2am everyday is killing me) -- average rainfall is -3 inches LOL --- the site has had 8 inches of rain in the last 2 days -- left at 9am today and there was 8 - 12 inches of water over the entire site including the roads --- one of those days I wished I had a giant 4x4 truck LOL

Anyway .. I got home at noon and did some work on the Ghia.  Next up is installing the exhaust and turbo so I can do the final pipe with the POV.

Wider is good...I am not a small person.

I have a '73 super now so I don't know how much the difference will be to me.
The super is getting a healthy 2332 shortly so that would stay with me when I sell the super to fund the Ghia.
I have been put on restriction, I can have what I want as long as I sell something first.
I am limited to two cars now.... Grin

Karman Sutra is a good thing for me to read and dream about for now....

Thanks for posting it.

You're a lucky guy --- I'm limited to one car LOL ----- and there is a really clean '59 f100 for sale around the corner from me for sale LOL And it is just begging for me to buy it and make it my tow truck LOL

I'm a big guy too at 6'-4" 270 -- I fit in the Fiat, but I never felt comfortable in the Oval -- go figure -- I think I've got the seats set up where I want them in the Ghia but I haven't done any of the final placement because I'm gonna have to crawl my big a$$ in and out the car about a million times to setup/mount all the electronics in the back of the car and I just don't want to crawl over anything LOL......
