Two ways I can think of doing that -- --

1. -- Count the turns and find the center that way, or

2. -- Check the arm on the steering box and get it pointing straight up and down

i'll investigate Smiley

First center your wheel -- then you adjust everything to match

So -- Here it is -- the Christmas season -- I bought my gift cards, but the wifie wanted to go shopping -- screw that LMAO -- So I heard there was going to be a Car Show at the Westfield Mall in Palm Springs this afternoon 1-5pm -- Can you see my plan here?Huh Dump the wife at the mall while I get to set in the parking lot with the Ghia and BS with a bunch of car nuts.... Can you believe the Wife was going for it??? Neither could I but I wasn't gonna complain.......

Man,,, What a beautiful afternoon in the Desert,,, 80* under clear skies,,,, doesn't get any better than this, UNTIL you start looking at the cars in this parking lot -- So here are a few that caught my eyes

The Mopars were out in force ---- NEVER -- let me repeat -- NEVER have been to a car show where there were FOUR winged cars -- --

Here's three:

and the other one:

PLUS here is the original wind tunnel model used in developing the wing cars,,, don't know where he found it, but the model won of the 'best car' trophies

Next up in this cool MGA -- --

Look closely and you'll see an LS engine in it -- with a 6-speed out of a viper ---- it won best engineered car -- was done perfectly

OK here is Mystery car NUMBER ONE -- -- I'll wait for some guesses on this one

Here are a few more cars for your viewing pleasure

Here's the peoples choice winner -- beautiful car

AND here is my Mystery car NUMBER TWO :;:::

It was a great day in the parking lot and to top it all off -- I won the 50/50 BUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA-HA

OK -- since you guys aren't guessing very good

Number 1 is a Glasspar G2 -- they were built in Costa Mesa in the 50's -- this had a SBC in it

Number 2 is a  Kougar-jaguar. Kougars are modern cars ('70s-'80s) built around older jaguar drivetrains with a healey silverstone-esque body -- They would take a Jag and drop all the running gear and a few other pieces and transfer over the serial tab -- this one was one of the last complete factory builds, after this you had to buy them in boxes....

I knew the Kougar. One of my customers had one. Stuart Forbes-Robinson... brother of Elliot.

looking at part of the cars i thought i knew it, but then you look at the whole picture and i was baffled!

MG's are pretty popular here, you know they actually made a V8 model....

cool pics thanks Smiley

Been playing in the rain today -- pulled the dual disc out and inspected it --

Got a little heat rash on it but not bad -- probably need to replace the discs and floater during the next year -- the floater and PP were perfectly flat, Nice -- -- the discs were showing wear and according to Kennedy, I'm allowed a total of .030 wear before replacement or adjustments need to be made -- Stopped at Clutch Masters in Rialto CA (((they have a dual disc system using copper discs -- their system is about 50% more expensive than Kennedys but includes a flywheel))) -- was talking about cleaning up the floater and PP - -- - but by dressing these 3 surfaces, it would of pulled 5-7 thou off each surface for a total of about .020 just in that, so then add in the wear that I've already got on the Discs, I'd would be out of spec and would require machining the flywheel surfaces (both the wear and the surface where the PP bolts to keep everything in tolerance) -- -- It just goes on  LMAO -- so said screw it, I've got no issues with it grabbing now, so will let it run for now until I replace everything

I got the trans back this afternoon from BENCO with the LSD by truetrack installed -- need to check with truetrack to see if it requires any special oil, but because it has no clutches I don't think so,, going to check to make sure before I screw it up LOL

Then start putting everything back together -- still debating about moving the oil cooler to the front of the car -- need to run the lines and stuff -- the STUFF is never ending LOL

Glad you appreciate my trials and failures LOL -- I think this is the reason I try to be transparent on what I do, I hate spending money to get something that just doesn't fit or work, and if my stupidity keep someone out of trouble makes it all worth while.....

Talked to truetrack this AM -- lubrication requirements -- petroleum based -- NO friction modifiers -- NO synthetics -- and stay away from Valvoline and Napa brands

Hi Harold,
Any idea why Valvoline and NAPA gear oils would be a no no with the Truetrack?
Thanks

Dave -- I have no idea -- It turns out the diff is a Peloquin and he recommended 75-90 'hi-point' Valvoline -- I have no idea what he meant by hi-point but I'll look into it
