I have a vintage formula Vee engine for sale. It was rebuilt last winter by the previous owner.
The exact contents of this engine is unknown, but the Formula Vee rules dictates that no aftermarket parts may be used, only modified stock parts. The cam is a reground stock resulting in a 340° monster, this engine BEGS for rpm when you drive it. It was based on a 1300cc engine but has been converted to 1600cc at some time. The flywheel is a lightened 6 volt and it has a small homebuilt oil sump with a pickup tube directly into the oil pump, the engine is also full flowed. The heads was singe ports decked to around 10:1 in compression but I am in the process of replacing them with stock 1600 single port heads, the others had reliability problems and required racefuel. The buyer can get the original heads to if he desires. The rockers are stock items but lightened. The dizzy is a 010 in superb condition, and the coil is a Bosch blue. The carbs are Stromberg’s in good working condition and they are a part of the Empi Speedwell sprint kit. The linkage is in great shape and works flawlessly, the adapters under the manifolds are home made and the support between the carbs are missing, as are the air cleaners. The Buggy cannons have been redone by me to fit in a bug, and I have given them a little Porsche twist.
This is a working vintage performance engine that turns heads!
