Hey Loungers

I have a Question...
For Dragracing (with hopefully fast Shifting) it is better to use a Operation with hydraulic or with a Wire?
I Use a Stage 3 Pressure Plate.At the moment i use a very old hydraulic system but it works a bit crazy.
For the first 4-6 Runs it works,but at once (mostly on the 2.Raceday or a long time in the Pits) the 2. Gear will not shift.
But only when i will shift very fast,slow it works allways fine.
With the hydraulic, the Brakefluid is fast enough back in the reservoir to close the Clutch complete?

 On my car I am running a hydralic clutch and RLR REV6 clutch setup. In the last few years I have tried alot of differant setups , from single discs to double . Depending on your clutch setup and  if you have enough travel in you system  it may be the mass of the disc. I do not know what size line you have going to it , but I run 1/4  . If the line is too small it will react slowly both pushing and releasing. Here is the clutch I am running , Mike McCarthy

Woww that looks fine!
My line is only 1/5 Inch Outer Diameter.
I am not sure but i hope thats not a Problem from the Gearbox himself?
I think when its the Gearbox it make to Scrach when the 2.Gear not want to shift???

prorings for the gears for proshift ,this is what you need first.  We are happy with our cables for the clutch. never used a hydraulic

I just used a VW Passat hydraulic TO bearing (made by Lucas iirc) and shortened the in- and outlet some, tapped it for the brake line hose ends and done ;-)

Joga, I think it was from a 3BG model 2001-2003, but just compare the model. A lot of other VAG brands (Audi, Skoda etc) use it as well.
I choose this one as its the most low profile one (41mm fully compressed) of all types I looked at.

The application is the same for a 6 speed '03 'Anniversary edition' GTI or say an '08 Passat with standard tranny.

I tried both - pro rings in a pro stock beetle and normal synchro in my vw-fiat (shift point at 8200-8400rpm) and I don't see much diffrence - synchro gearbox works very fast, pro ringed one a little bit better but it's not a big diffrence. The fact is that synchromesh are very sensitive to gearbox oil quality and they wear out, pro-rings would probably work even without the oil;) My next gearbox won't have pro rings.

I have a fresh 80w/90 gearbox oil (polish brand) and it works fine. Maybe your synchro ring is worn?  Or your oil is getting hot. Or both;)
