Saw it zip in. Nice!
The summary board said it was mostly original
A sprinkling of chrome (pope's nose, taillights, plate surrounds, etc)
Engine is clean

Nice to meet you, Black Sheep

Frank, it came with the car and too be honest just looks like a period accessory, it is not my intention to offend so if it does, sorry, please ask the poster to remove there photo, if there is a meaning to this that I'm aware of please advise me, if its in relation to the S sticker it appears part of the badge, again no offence intended.

Frank PM sent.

Congratulations Russell! I'm very happy to see this and glad you had a chance to take the old goat out to stretch its legs. I miss this car very much but I know she's in great hands. Dont worry about the badge. The original owner belonged to the automobile club in Germany before moving to Sweden. Some people always try to start shit they know nothing about and generalize it 100% with killing of Jews. Again Russell Congrats and well done! Cheers!

The best bit is that it smells like a proper unrestored old car Cool

The badge looks to be for the ADAC http://www.adac.de/

Some of the vintage badges are pretty cool

The OAMTC in Austria have some cool ones as well (I'm looking for one of these for my Austrian 67)

** Some Wikipedia research found the answer **

During the Nazi period, starting in 1934, all motorists' organisations and clubs were replaced by „Der Deutsche Automobil-Club e.V.“ (the German Car Club) which was closely associated with the National Socialist Motor Corps. After the Second World War the ADAC was re-established in Bavaria in 1946, and from 1948 it was also permitted to operate in the other western occupied zones which in 1949 would become the Federal Republic of West Germany.

Err I won't post any pics of DDAC badges as a Google Image Search produced some interesting results  Shocked
