I use the 2 softest light silver springs,if it comes in to quickly after that[any sign of detonation] I use one blue instead of one silver,i leave the stop as it is on N/A engines

i just changed the springs and took the car for a ride.
what a difference that two little springs can make,it is like another engine.
everything seems to be all right no detonation.
but i wonder how detonation sounds,is it something that you hear really good.
and when do you normally hear it high in the revs?

Excellent now you can enjoy it Grin

detonation,it normally occurs at lower rpm in a taller gear, like 1500 to 200rpm in 4th if the advance comes in to early with alot of load on the engine,it sounds like a knocking, a little like a diesel engine, how much total advance do you have now? any detonation higher up would be to much total advance or if its lean, the rate the advance comes in[changing the springs] doesnt affect this

Hey Richie,

i do enjoy it just have to drive it a bit more now to get some confidence in it.
no sounds like that just that IDA sound.
the total advance is 30 degres now.
i think i'm quite safe with 9.0-1 compression and 98 octane fuel.
