Side windows look a little big, and primered roof says maybe the oval window was grafted to a later car?

The rear apron and quarter windows are late model.  Definitely not the BAE car.

Could not make out the paint line vs the quarter window that well.  Could be an early but this is not the BAE car. I saw it up close and personal and this one hardly compares to it.

I know there's quite a few other cars in that collection, but do they ever see the light of day?  I'm under the impression they're just sitting collecting dust these days, from other threads I've seen.

I say rebook your plane tickets back to Hawaii again.  Earlier posts suggested the BAE car made it's way to Hawaii back in the early 80's.  Not sure if it was purchased prior to coming to Hawaii or it was bought while it arrived in Hawaii.  Whatever the case it was bought by Bob Simpson of Pele Bug Ent..  The car supposedly was sold and shipped off to Japan, that is false.  Bob Simpson has shut his shop down last year or so, selling off the machinery, equipment and whatever else was collected over the years.  One of the things being sold was this BAE car to one of it's former employees.

Here is a youtube link of the car racing in Maui this past May.

I can confirm that the BAE car is NOT in Akira Ueno's collection in Chiba, Japan. I was just there.

Just found more pics scrolling through the local drag strip website.  These were taken on the ending of May '12.  Funny thing is I noticed in one of the pics a "for sale".

Would be cool if someone restored this to the original motor configuration with the blow thru turbo set up that blew through early HILBORN 1600V type dual throttle body injection manifolds.  That motor was incredible! I saw the car run at OCIR and Bob McClure did not even have a waste gate on the turbo.
