Love that 80s Cal Look? Hmm, not always. But I remember one car very clearly and I guess the Norwegian guys can tell us more or have some pictures of it: The owner was named Martin and came from the Oslo area, was – as far as I know – a founding member of VW Aircoolers Vestvold and used to own a '56 Oval on a '68 IRS pan, pink, no crome trim, ragtop, polished Fuchs wheels and no licence plate light. What an awesome car! Very tasteful even with todays standards.

Does anyone of you know if this car is still in existence?

PS: The licence plate was CC61348

It was sold when we were in Berlin at a VW meeting in 1992 to a local car dealer. He wanted it as a display car in the shop window.

Thanks for information, Magne and Jøran! Will see if I can track down the car. I really loved it!

Interesting thing, the Skandinaviens build all the cool cars and the Germans bought them. Another definig car, the blue Oval of Per Hallgren, Sweden, on selfmade "Centerlines" and with flipfront was sold to Germany as well. And wasn't Svein Erik Olsens Type 3 notch (purple and lilac, 8-Spoke replicas, LHD) also sold to the "Fatherland"?

Fun thing to recall all these cars from 15 years ago.  Smiley

I was at that meeting too. I remember the pink car had a german red license plate of Berlin. With Stinger!!! It came with some other norwegian cars, a green Oval with Rader Wheels (T-111, if I recall correctly), a red Oval with louvered decklid, Sprintstars, Ford taillights and a green split.

Oh boy, that's 14 yrs ago now...
