Line lock adapters
«
on:
August 22, 2012, 23:17:44 pm »
Hi, need 3 line lock adapters, don't really fancy paying 12 pounds each from Heritage for some small brass fittings that probably cost about 50p,
Anybody know a good place to get them from in England. Maybe a pipes and fittings place or somewhere?
Or even better where I can get some GM brake unions from to make my own lines?
Thanks
Stef

Hi Rich. When installing a line lock you would probably need to make custom brake lines anyway, so simply make them with female M10 ends and save a wad of cash
Regards, Matt
Ps. How did you get on at the Scc?

Agreed.
but it is possible to use stock replacement VW hard lines available from lots of places and the adaptors I use allow this
and for some the cost of the correct flaring tool outweighs any saving on the other adaptors
SCC,not the best,I made too many changes and the rain made it impossible to get enough runs to dial everything back in,but I leant enough to hope next time out will be better,we seem to have cured some of last years problems but only after getting more runs will I be able to tell for sure, the data from a couple of passes isnt enough for me to make judgement

Ive found that using the correct adaptors are the best way and hard piping the line locks in, not sure that Heritage charge £12.00 each for these to be honest.........

Adapters and vw lines or do you mean vw one end and GM the other end on the break pipes?
Have a look on their site, they are 11.90 each

Yeah it is still a lot for what they are. Be good to know how much they cost from whoever makes them because they seem to be the same kind of price everywhere.
