i am thinking of getting a new distributor and have seen that an 009 with an 050 advance curve is available...

so what is the difference between the 2 and how would one differ from the other in the same engine?

i am thinking of upgrading to electronic ignition as well, so any thoughts or experiences welcome.
i can't afford to go all out on it though, so am looking currently on ebay at 2 similar ones available . links below..

Don't believe those ads, they are just throwing number at you in the hopes to make a sale.

If it has a 050 curve, then it's a 050.

I've seen some 009 clones mention the 050 and 010 in their ads.... it's just keyword spamming.

Here's a Pertronix ad

Quote
Pertronix Billet Flamethrower Distributor 019 050

Pertronix has taken all the things that you like about the Bosch 009 distributor, and the performance capabilities of the 010 and 050 distributor and designed them into thier all new Flame-Thrower distributor.

So it's a 009, 019, 010 and 050... the best of everything.

I say BULL SH!T.

What people "like"about the 009 is it's cheap price. All mechanical distributors work the same way, it's the curve that is different. Some distributors can have the curve and total advance altered, but none give the same curves as the 010, 019 or 050.

You can mix the different springs and levers to alter the curves

None of the curves is the same as the 010.
