I get a call this morning at 11.15 that the brown WPK-split-window-beetle crashed. Nobody should be injured, but the car should get destroyed. Does anybody knows more about that?

Happy to the see Rudi waking away unhurt but what a shame that the lovely split is gone forever.  Embarrassed

It's sad to see this, that was a great car! Glad he's okay.
Are they still racing on that narrow road??

It's realy a pity for the car, having read on another forum that Rudy wasn't injured seriously. It still was a split window beetle... I wish him to find the force to start again with a similar, fully detailed project!

Note two things:

a) The car only had a rear roll-cage – see how far the front of the roof has been crushed? Racing = full roll-cage...

b) The seat appears to have broken. Lightweight seats MUST have some means of support to the back of them to stop this happening in an accident. If the seat breaks, then the seat belts become loose...

Combine a) and b) and you have the potential for a bad situation... Glad Rudy was OK. Looks like he was lucky.

Scary stuff, sorry to see such a good car looking like that but at the end of the day the main thing is the driver's OK. All the best to the WPK guys.

Couldn't agree more... the driver is the most important part...

After checking this car out at Spa last year it is a shame it is wrecked  Sad , but thank God the driver was not hurt.
