VolksWorld 25 magazine
To celebrate VolksWorld's 25th Birthday we have gone all out and produced a top quality perfect bound collector's edition, ‘VolksWorld 25'. It goes on sale in the U.K. on 7th September 2012

If you are outside of the U.K. you will be able to order it via the VolksWorld online shop next week - http://volksworld.ipcshop.co.uk/shop/one-page-shop/one-shots/volksworld-25-magazine---special-issue?refererTitle=&refererUrl=/cms/home

This is what content you can expect inside.

Cars that shaped the scene
VWs which have set trends, pushed things forward or changed the way we think.

Top 25 defining moments
The events, the people and landmarks which have made all the difference to where we are today.

Insane creations
All VWs looked the same when they were new... But once imagination comes into play anything is possible.

25 steps to heaven
Creating a unique Volkswagen is as easy as A-B-C. Here are some of the most popular modifications.

Trends and tricks
Some ideas burn brightly for a few moments whilst others are so good they become the norm.

The VolksWorld 25
VolksWorld's own choice of the top feature cars and photoshoots of all time.

The next 25 years
It's time to look into the crystal ball as we forecast what the future holds for the Volkswagen scene.

And there's more...

To celebrate we're hosting the VolksWorld - 25th Birthday Party at the world famous Brands Hatch race circuit on Thursday 20th September 2012.
It's FREE to get in (all you need to buy is your food and drink), and we have lots of things going on to keep you entertained.

The party starts at 15.00hrs, so make sure you arrive early and finishes around 23.00.

Register in advance and get a free party bag and a chance to win £500.00 worth VW related goodies.

Entry to the event is free and, although you can just turn up on the night, we ask you to register in advance to help us with the organisation. Register HERE. https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/VolksWorld

Once you have registered we will send you an anniversary sticker and event programme by return, your party bag will be at the gate when you arrive. You might even win £500 worth of VW-related goodies, so don't delay, do it today.

What's going on?

Photo opportunity on the start / finish straight.

We will be lining up as many air-cooled VWs on the main straight at Brands Hatch as we can for a once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunity that will then be made into a poster and be given away free with the December 2012 issue of VolksWorld. To make sure you are part of VW history, remember to tick the ‘car line up box' when you register. We will send you a line-up sticker to put in your car window. Positioning of cars commences at 17.00 so make sure you arrive in plenty of time.

Music in The Kentagon Bar
The Vision Tech Beats, well known in UK VW circles, will headline our indoor entertainment, backed up by DJ Louis Newbury. Music will be from 17.00 to 23.00. A pay for bar and reasonably priced food will be available all evening.

Cool Flo
Cool Flo will be bringing their fine collection of Buses and laying on entertainment suitable for a warm summer evening. They always put on a good show, so make sure you stop by and say hello.

Drive ‘n' Shine
We always love to see great cars being driven to events, so we will be picking the best cars out for an award. There's no need to enter, just turn up, and if you find a sticker on your car, your VW will be one of the Winners! You may even win Raddest Ride.

Party Bags
We will be giving away free party bags to the first 500 people that
pre-register for the event. Enter your details HERE and let us know if you wish to take part in the car line up on the start / finish straight and we will send you a 25th anniversary sticker in advance. Your party bag will be waiting at the gate.

Camping
A limited number of camping plots are available for those wishing to stay overnight. You must book these in advance by emailing martine_derwish@ipcmedia.com

Where is the party
Brands Hatch Circuit, Fawkham, Longfield.
Kent DA3 8NG, just 10 minutes from the M25 / M20.

We'd love to see you there, but obviously and sadly we won't see all of our friends from overseas - so, on behalf of the team on VolksWorld, I'd like to thank all our friends and readers for the last quarter of a century. We couldn't have done it without you!

You can order through the online shop. I have checked and the way to do this is to put your COUNTRY in the box which says COUNTY. Then put UK in the COUNTRY box.   The orders are dispatched from this office so if you have any problem just email martine_derwish@ipcmedia.com

Updates on the 25th Anniversary Party at Brands Hatch this Thursday.

We now have over 700 pre-registered Air-Cooled VWs coming and this does not include those who are turning up on the day! We have got people coming from all over the UK, England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales plus many coming from the European mainland.

Over the last couple of months we've been busy contacting some of the big names from the UK scene from way back when and you can expect to see a number of 'faces' you may never have met before or seen for many years.

The list includes; Rick Pearmain, CJ Prew, Paulo (The Producer of the early Bug Jam videos), Jay Townsend, Keith Seume, Steve Gilbert, Simon Emery, Russell Ritchie, Brett Hawksbee, Brian Burrows, Mark Redmond of No Worries, Mike Key, Paul Knight and someone we have not seen at a VW event for a very long time... Colin Burnham! Colin is perhaps one of the key people in kicking off the UK scene with his Project Cal Look Beetle in Street Machine magazine in the mid 80's and his books 'Air Cooled Volkswagens' and Classic Volkswagens' it's great to hear that he will be attending the event.

The event starts at 3.00pm and cars will be parked up on a first come first served basis for the parade lap of the Brands Hatch circuit which ends on the start/finish straight where we will be taking a huge group photograph which will be turned into a free poster to be given away in the magazine.

After this the party proper kicks off with Cool Flo, Vision Tech Beats and DJ Trademark.

It's sure to be an event like no other, a real one off.

We are counting down to Thursday - we can't wait!

I wish I could come to this, but it's on a school night... Cry

Got the magazine though, and it's a corker! Loved the bit about CJ's notch and how special the wheels were - I believe they're the set I've got for my Beetle! Grin

Nice looking cal look.

I always feel sorry for who every has owned Bernies old car, it has never shaken off that tag.  It would be nice when its called the "owners" car.  Perhaps a change of colour and wheel might do it.

But it is cool.

I don't know the current owner and am friends with Bernie so that's my excuse. Beige paint should do the trick.
