I thought a seperate thread would be better for this,

So 1st thanks to all from DAS who worked so hard to make this another success, well done all of you, thanks for continuing to put this event on,for all that created and provided the food saturday night and mainly for making the weekend FUN Smiley

Thanks to Luxembourg Frank and Rudy Olivenca for helping me with running the car this weekend, extra hands always make things easier Smiley

For me another good weekend, the track suffered from the rain friday and it being much colder than last year, the 60fts were horrible and I wasnt the only one with this problem, but running a Bitburg personal best for me of 9.281@145mph with the 60ft about a 1/10th slower than 2 weeks before at santa pod was still good as we had wheelspinning still at over 120mph Shocked  All the passes were in the 9s Smiley Car put back in the lorry ready to go for next time[well apart from the training wheel rubber coming apart, maybe that was a hint to me to take it off now Shocked Wink ]

I definately feel we have turned the corner now with the new set up we installed july/august this year, the car now goes straight, feels good to drive and I am happy being behind the wheel again, next year we will be able to throw some of the extra power we have in reserve that we havent been able to use yet and see what it will really do Grin

Keep watching we are coming Cheesy

cheers richie

Pics and videos will be added later, feel free to add any that you took

Report  1st

Excellent weekend drove 2000miles to get there and back but was worth every one, I got a 12.32 in Tar babe which i only knew after watching jos video and am delighted with that  Grin almost my PB of 12.01.... Was awarded a DAS award for the chop which was truly fantastic, thank you.

So the chop made 3 passes, dave rhoads car made 3 passes, larry mck black 67 made 4 passes and Tar babe made 2, once against Ole's Pink Panther which is old school racing at its best and once against Bernies Stitch Up which is New school all the way, i was beaten in both but had them both at the lights......... just wait till Richies lets me drive his car (look out)  Grin with a 14.1 against Ole and a 12.32 against Bernie.

Thank you's

Wray for being back seat driver and much needed support
Richie and Jo, as always there to help and assist whenever, and the food... Jo thx xx
Ole for bringing out Pink Panther, you know i love these old racers, thank for the race.
Fabs, my own personell car cleaner/licker and photographer, thanks
Cedric and Charlie 48IDA for being my part time mechanics
Sylvie for the Mash Mallows, they are to die for.
Kobus and Freddie for not braking the Chop and Daves car
DAS for a fantastic weekend and a trophy to boot, thank you very much and happy 20th birthday to you all
Frank Lux for trying to find some Empi Head Gaskets and the very nice little present at the end, thx
Bernie for some words of wisdon at the top of the track.
Philip Steenackers (Blue bug) for making me think we were moving quick on the way home, he had to pass me three times !!!!  Grin
Dave Rhoads, Keith Goss, Greg Aronson and Larry Mckenzie for building the cars in the first place, without them i wouldnt have had such fun.
If forgot anyone sorry but a massive thank you to you all

The members of the DAS also deserve a big thank you for several reasons! I was picked up at Brussels airport by Christofe to meet some of the other club members for lunch. Then I got a Superfine drive, in a lovely 60 ragtop model cal-look, through the Belgian countryside to Bitburg. It was an experience I will remember for a long time to run in the company of several beautiful cars.

Thank you all for an extraordinary experience!

What a weekend!

Thanks to all who made this happen. The DAS Drag Day could be a four-day event, and there's still not enough time to check out all these great cars in detail...

My highlight was the pass vs. Russell in Tar Babe, I was so excited I missed 2nd gear... Roll Eyes But Russell was kind enough to let me win, he did a redlight anyway... Cheesy

Thanks to "primerracing" for the video!  Cool

Saludos,

Looks like you had fun down there.

I had to pass on it, again. Bad time of year for me.

BTW Ritche, your car even sounds meaner than I have ever heard it before  Shocked Man it hauls  Grin
