Hello everyone. I have for sale a reproduction Empi Sender. This is a very well produced unit, that has been molded from an original piece off of a  true EMPI GTV BEETLE. The kit  includes ALL the sending units and connectors to get your later model (ORANGE NEEDLE) oil temperature and oil pressure gages working properly.  I have done a lot of testing on the oil temperature and oil pressure sending units, and found that the oil pressure gage reading is approximately 5 psi lower than actual, and the oil temperature is within + or -10 deg.

There were 2 styles of Empi Senders manufactured in the 60's and 70's. The most common, when installed would display the EMPI logo straight up and down in line with the crank pulley. The other model has the EMPI logo flipped, so it is common to install this sender perpendicular with the crank pulley. Both sender styles are available.
I have posted pictures bellow.

I will make NO MORE than 20 of these kits !

The top two are original, the bottom two are reproductions. The reproductions will varnish after they get warm on an engine.

Top original, bottom reproduction.

This is the common style.

This is the perpedicular style

NEW PRICES AS OF 01/01/09

$475.00 for a complete setup to work with your gauges. Prices per piece, Brass Empi Sender T - $430.00, Oil pressure sending unit $50.00, Oil Temp sending unit $20.00. Contact me and let me know what style you are interested in, and any questions you may have.  Thanks, Chris

I know this is a very old thread, but does anybody know what the thread size is on the end that the oil temp sending unit fits into?

I have a reproduction sender available. This is the last one I have. It was my prototype , it has some flaws. During testing I broke the threads. I have repaired it & it's ready to run.

Brass Empi Sender T - $430.00
Oil pressure sending unit (Orange needle) $55.00

I have a 68 GTV convertible. I am in need of oil temp and oil pressure sending units that work with real EMPI gauges. What would recommend using?
