Last week I went to see the Rallye Monte Carlo Historique, among the 300+ cars entering the race I swear I saw a Beetle with Kuplapja stickers! I'll sort out and edit my pictures and post them here.

Hi Nico,

Nice pictures!I would love to drive down there someday and watch that rally.Until then Boucles des Bastogne(this weekend) and Köln-Ahrweiler in the fall will have to do.
Do you have any idea what wheels are on that yellow 1302?They look a bit like Ansens..

Cheers,Arnoud

You are welcome here and it's a great rally to watch (about 300 classic cars!)

I think the wheels on this 1302 are ATS  Huh

This beetle is driven by Ville Silvasti, who drives also 911 rsr and 356 B in other rallys. Engine in this beetle is in FIA-homologation 1.6 with 48 IDA:s, drysump etc, gearbox is modified with racegearset + ZF Limited split differential.  Nice car and good driver

Awesome, thank you for the infos! These FIA 1.6 engines are really interesting. I think tough it should have kept the stock (but heavily modified) muffler to be completely FIA-homologated? Note that in this rally, cars do not have to have a FIA passport.

I'll post pictures of the other VWs later this weekend.
