thanks for the nice comments folks haven`t touched it for 2 weeks now so no progress to tell. i did pick up my newly machined crankcase though, and i`ve ordered some nice cylinder heads for xmas

cheers steve. i was actually looking out for a 69/70 model myself but then this turned up and was too good to refuse might fit some earlier rear wings and lights and well then you`d hardly tell the difference

I have a car in mind its a 72 model 1 owner plus the guy who now owns it full documented history never welded but now needs a resto ....all up and running with mot ....just trying to get it a price that suits me ....lol

for the floor under the RHD pedal assembly, there are some repro floor pans with the correct pressing to take the piece of steel that the pedals bolt to. Sadley I didn't write down the brand looking good

Sadley I didn't write down the brand looking good cheers. the front sections i got have a large recess from the napolean hat section back to the first rib stamping in the og pan. not entirely original looking but good to fit the pedal mount bar

Cool! sounds like you got some good mates back home too! i noticed the engine build changed size too still using the 90.5 case with slip in 94's or new case?

Cheers yeah I think Simon is glad I left ireland as I was always calling on him to weld this or that over the years, colm is a fellow vw guy and has some good fabrication skills, he was the right man to finish the irs for me. Motor plans have changed over the years, first was 2110 then 2276 then 1955 then 1600 now back to 2276 and I'm making sure it's built before I change my mind again

Thanks Lee. Last major delivery of engine parts came today, been a long time waiting for all this to come together. Spec is Alu case stroker clearanced and cut for 94's Dpr 82mm crank and flywheel Cb 5.4 race rods Mahle forged 94's Raptor cam and lifters Scat straight cut gears Jeff denham unwelded hot street spec heads 42 and 37mm Cb 1.4 ratio rockers Aluminium pushrods Berg 26mm oil pump Berg gland nut Berg welded balanced fan Berg 3.5 quart sump Vw speedshop efi and crank trigger ignition Vw speedshop stainless hideaway exhaust Kennedy stage 2 clutch Vw brasilia fan housing Motor is getting built in January - February, need to get my ass in gear and get the car ready by then
