Anyone else used their car for weddings ?
For my second wedding(!) The bride was taken to the church in a lowered 1303 Cabrio, I arrived in the best man's Carrera 3.2, the 'going away' car was my 1951 Okrasa Split, the photographer (Tom Silsbury) came in his black Oval-window Looker, and guest arrivals included Ivan McCutcheon in his '67, a friend's '67 single-cab and the parts manager from the local VW dealer in his original '59. The evening music was supplied by a friend with his '59 Pontiac Bonnevile. Guests took more photos of the cars than they did of the bride and groom!

My Beetle was used as my wedding car too - finished the car on Thursday night, drove to work in it on friday and to the wedding on Saturday! My wife and I went to the registry office in it together though - we thought it was kind of apt as I had picked her up for our first date in it! I've got some pictures somewhere...

[ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ] My bro drove my wife-to-be to the church in my car and then the pair of us to the reception. I got the car back from being done over two weeks before we got married - I mean a totally bare shell, body was resting on the pan, and hundreds of little baggies with carefully labelled bits. Some early mornings, and lots of help from my brother & father and we had it done. In truth it wasn't really cal-look at this time. The rims and motor were added a year later: I used my wife's last six paychecks (she was finishing working as expecting our 1st child) to pay for the motor

My old -56 which I used to drive my brother and his bride in their wedding back in 2009. It was a 500 km trip each way, crossing the mountains with my daughter and pregnant wife as passengers. A lovely trip!

My beetle was used by one of my best mates for his wedding. Learned him to drive with it so I could drink beer . Don't know if he was smilling all day because of the wedding or the sound of the IDA's [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]
