This is what I know:

For the moment SCC 2013 is planed on the same weekend as "always". In other words, 2 weeks after the main Norwegian championship race at Gardermoen. This NC race is not yet confirmed but the work date is the weekend 02 - 04 August. In other words, SCC will be held on the weekend 16 - 18th August.

BTW: 02-03 August is the confirmed dates for Bug Run Classic 2013 at Tierp Arena. Still not confirmed if there will be 1 or 2 days of racing.

What would be best you think; SCC the weekend after BRC or a longer brake in between?

Weekend after bugrun. so more people can come for racing and making a vaccation during that week. Only for one race both is very far

I think it would be better for both BRC and SCC to get longtravel visitors if they could be held the week after each other.
When i visited Bugorama/Pro Stock Nationals in Sacramento  there were a lot of americans that were interested to come over and visit our events but thought it was too long trip for only one event.

For me too it would be much better to have the 2 events with a week between, which order they are in doesn't matter, last year when Bug run classic followed SCC was perfect for us, and makes much more financial sense[if towing 1000s of miles for a few seconds fun can make any sense Shocked Cheesy ] the week between allowed us a small vacation in a perfect setting to relax before more racing Smiley  If Bug run classic can allow racing over 2 days then it would be even better, there is always that chance of rain stopping racing for a day, 2 day events give much better chance of racing Smiley

Unfortunately we are not running SCC two weeks later just to mess up for everyone as some might lead you to believe.

SCC is a small fish in a pond controlled by barracudas.

We are doing what we can to get the second weekend of August, and we have been doing that since 2002, but we have always ended up with the third or last week, due to the said predators.

The only way to fix the gap in time between SCC and Bug Run would be if Bug Run have the option to move closer.

We have still not given up and are doing our best, but an actual date is still some time away.

Best regards

Hi jon

I realise you are always fighting a difficult battle with track availability and cost, I am sure we as racers all appreciate the effort the SCC organisers go to,along with all the other event organisers and I have no idea what relationship the SCC group have with the Bug run group, but it would sure make it alot easier to get extra attendance by having the 2 events consecutive weekends,I think you would see an increase in attendance from southern europe and UK, if its not realistic then thats ok, but we have to ask and make our voices heard, just as I did to the Bug run promoters on the thread about their event Smiley

cheers richie

Maybe you can book a weekend without rain this year as well please Grin

This American thinks it was well worth the trip for one multi-day event when I hit SCC in 2009, and I plan to do it again soon Grin

That said, it would  be way cool to be able to see VW races at Gardermoen and Tierp on consecutive weekends.
