Hi guys, don't know if you remember me. My name is Jim Aust. I was here a few years ago when I was trying to keep my SO-CAL SPeed Shop franchise alive. The economy just wouldn't have any part of it. Ended up losing the business along with my 20-plus year marriage and laid low for a little while. In the whole spiral I had to sell my dream '67 below that went to France.  But after a few years of regrouping I'm back and working at Hollywood Hot Rods and just bought myself a one-ownwer 1970 Bug. Already have a dropped narrowed front end, low back seats, pop-outs and a set of chromie wheels. Going to install the new parts over Thanksgiving. Post some pices when I get it done. All-original paint, no accidents and it runs perfect! This car is 100% original! A doctor owned it and apparently never changed ANYTHING! Including the original Continental tires!

Welcome back Jim. Sorry life bit you in the butt, but I'm sure the future is looking better already. Smiley

Getting a little work done to it. Have a set of real EMPI 2-piece 8 spokes and EZR Shifter coming. Also nce German bumpers and an original AM/FM to add.

Welcome back Jim!

Glad to hear that you're back in So Cal. Hollywood Hot Rods would be a great place to work at I bet!

I hope to see you around.

Thanks Rick! If anybody wants to check out Hollywood Hot Rods I give tours everyday. Are there any clubs in the area that accept clean cars with patina?

Yes. Sadly after I came up with the idea for "The Garage" and wrote all the content the behind the scenes guys I hired to help decided to do me a "favor" and take it over (kicked me out) for themselves and then proceeded to drive it into the ground with no one able to produce new content or have even a personality. There are already enough websites where the moderator posts the occasional old photo and expects that to be entertainment. Actually loving the cars and working on them and knowing the history is a different thing.
