Wow! What to say ? This car and the story of its build are solely responsible for me wanting a cal look beetle. I lusted after the car at the time and looking back at the articles (yes, I still have them, and Colins book) it still looks good. I bought an MOT failure '71 in 1988 for £50 and drove it home with a view to 'getting on the road quickly' for my wife. Well, 4 years after that the first resto was done! I still have the car and have just given it a good freshen up. Colins car 'cost' me tens of thousands of £ over the past 25 years! Looking forward to seeing this restored. Splendid! Steve

SO with only 12 days to go before the Volksworld Show we have a repaired and painted shell, a new rooflining, a carpet set and 1000s of bits so myself and Richie got stuck into the rebuild today, thx to some pre build work on the pan by Richie we have almost got it together, started with the wiring and some of the dash parts today also, seats are all cleaned and ready to refit, front indicators now installed and door mirrors reay to go on. Hopefully by tomorrow the pan will be complete, wiring in all the right areas and the engine bay seals....... some spy shots for your review.
