Fabian, VERY VERY cool Big Deal™ red Beetle that you posted. Is that yours? I wish that I would have kept the ones that my Dad and I built back when they were new. [/b]

yes dave it's a/c
i remember having to exchange some e-mails with eh a member of the club , he possesses a 1600 with an empi/speedwell sprintkit kit here is the description which he had given me of his engine

I set up this kit first about 20 years ago with stock 1600 cc. s/p.

It's run very well. For next step about 7 years ago ,I deciced to changed something in this engine.

Ported & polished the single port head. Changed the intake and exhaust valve to 39/32 mm.

It's from 411 valve,hi po single spring, chromoly retainer & chromoly pushrod.

 W130 Engle cam,it's too big for 1600 engine,nice work at 2000-6000 rpm,but idle about 1300 rpm.

1 3/8 inch header with custom dual queit pack. cr is about 8:1.

Last 2 years I ever test my car at Klong 5 drag strip near BKK,the best et is 18.1 sec with stock transmission.

I thing the 150 cd is too big for 1200 engine. The size of this carb bigger than  34 ict or 34 frd from Weber and Dellorto.(150cd 1.5 inch multiply by 25.4 is about 38mm.)

Okay, I give up... what kind of wheels are on this Fastback? I don't recall ever seeing those. I like 'em.
