Kevin Brennan's So Blue Oval... loved that car. Looks like Kevin, Bob Davis, and some other DEEKS in the background. Is that Delaney (blond)?

You were in DKK? Are you sure? No doubt its strange. Where the hell are your stickers? Were you on probation or something? (a club thing not a police thing). My 56 was suspended two times for small scratches. WTF?
In that pic of Brennan's ride, Bill Kuehne on the right?, Alex Gonzales or maybe Bob Davis (dark hair) fuzzy red head Kevin Brennan bending over and Gary Dale (could be Greg Dale his twin) sipping his non alcoholic beverage. Because we were'nt allowed to bring intoxicating beverages into the event. Nope.
RIGHT......
Okay that was a lie. I believe it was every Bug In Jeff put a keg in his Bus. So theres NO WAY he was drinking a smoothie. Did they even have smoothies back then? Fun times eh? Plus DKK never broke any rules. HAH!
Also had to share one more pic of a DKK car that I originally saw in a driveway near Hillcrest park in Fullerton and put a note on (this story told elsewhere) and asked if it was possibly for sale. I got a call and the girl/owner said her Dad bought it for her but she hated driving it. So my highschool bro Keith Rosenberger bought it. We put it to the buffer, painted some tins, some trunk splatter paint, redid some interior, painted the wheels and wham. Sweet ride. Very period perfect. Want to be jealous? I believe he paid $3000 dollars pretty much as it sits on the Empi 5's. 3 grand. Where ARE those deals now?
Oh and this shot with Paula reaching into the bus probably for a smoothie

I need to match up the dates but there was a period of time when I was running DKK stickers in my daily driver. beige 68' while I was building the split window. Bug in 28 was Oct - 80', right? Looking at the pic I can tell that I had not yet done the interior, had not painted the exterior, but I think the engine had just been built and installed. (I see yellow inside the engine compartment) That may explain why I didn't have stickers on the car.... the split hadn't been voted in yet It wasn't until Bug-In 27, an entire year later that the Split took 1st in Cal-Look pre-58'. Remember that one DEEKs?! There were a great many of you in my garage reassembling the split..... it had just returned from the paint shop the Friday before Bug-In. Can you say No-Doz and coffee? Oh, to be young again!

D.K.P. 2 had already been disbanded for several years by the time of this photograph. Forgive me, Fabian, but what does that have to do with D.K.K.?

Thanks, Lisa, my old wrinkles eyes are 32 years older than that photo. HA! You're right... days of No-Doz, coffee, and DEEKS in each others' garages before Bug-In events = GOOD TIMES. Wait, we're still doing that. At least we're consistent.

Fred, do you remember when you were voted in? I think you got your stickers after I did (beige 68'). Maybe this was the period of time when you were earning your stickers

Maybe this was the period of time when you were earning your stickers I can't remember exactly when... but I know I met McNew & Ramirez in late '79 through Bob Rey. I started hangin' out with the club then. So maybe sometime in '80 I got the stickers. I don't know. You could be right. All's I know is that I got in, had a blast, and still doing that.

Just a fantastic collection of photos. My brain is kinda fuzzy but DAMN I remember a LOT of those cars for some odd/wierd reason. Really cool.
And the BEST!!!! Two of our own in one pic. Yes, DKK Lisa's yellow split, and guess who's sitting on the right. Yes again, a Mr. Rick Meredith (DKK Rick) who looks to have driven past the barber shop many many many times. And it looks like Lisa behind him. HAH! AWESOME. Nice hair dude.
Wish I still had the hair!

My friend was showing off today and had to roll these out of his garage -- he want to "clean" his spotless garage -- they are the real things too
