Glad you can remember it Neil, it's been a while since I've seen it It's one that sticks in my mind from the build on volksmoan years ago. I always thought it looked right, even though I don't think I've ever seen it in person. I walk past mine every day, still haven't touched it since I broke it in October...

To be fair, my comment was a bit flippant. Since moving house last February the 63 beetle for the first time ever has been garaged where I actually live. My son and I have done quite a few outings in it and really enjoyed it. I'm tempte to pull it all apart and re-do it but I have more than enough to be finishing right now Lee

One of my parents' friends found this picture of himself and a couple other friends recently, that was taken by my dad... the red '67 being the very same that I've been working on and enjoying for the past 4 1/2 years or so. If this looks familiar to you all, it's a different angle, a few seconds later, of this shot. These were shot somewhere in Northern Colorado, on a beer drinking/sunrise watching expedition, sometime in 1989 or 1990.

That's scary, you make 1989 sound like it was a long time ago far far way.....

I discovered today, on an office supply run to a local brewery, that a quarter barrel keg of beer fits comfortably under the hood of a '67 although it does make the steering rather heavy.

This shot reminds me of how we lowered our cars back when I was a teenager and too useless to do it any other way. Except we used sandbags. The keg is the classy alternative

Not everyone has the money for paint or shiny wheels, but that doesn't stop me from aspiring to have my car looking and driving like my friend's 67 on the left someday. Of course mine will be red.
