Here some pics of ALL (yes all!!) Dutch Cal-Lookers...

 JeePee's looker:

 Dokke's looker:

Don't know whose looker this is. Has a Dutch dealer license plate. Apparently a Cal-Look freak. Nice stance... Don't like the two-tone paintjob though... Sad

Yes that makes 3 and as far as I know that's the entire Dutch Cal Look scene... Undecided

 I think that car is already a bit "over-pimped" for a Cal-looker...

Less is more... (not when it comes to HP though...)

I guess that's the reason why Dokke belongs to a german Cal Look Club... Grin
Can't wait to see your car when it's done! I really like Late Looker and hope to see more of them in the future.

Quality-wise the green Looker is really good, but as you said, it's mixed up. It has big side windows so it must be a '65-'67. But it's not a '67, because then the owner would have left the decklid on it's place – as a Cal Look fan your are proud to have a '67. So it must be a '65 or '66. All cars from may '66 onwards had the new doorhandles so I would guess it's a late '66 modelyear car.  Grin

It could have been a "1200 A" though. That was the cheap standard version. It was possible to order a cheap 1200 A with a sunroof. But when one ordered a sunroof on a 1200 A they didn't get a steel sunroof, but the old fabric sunroof. They did also mount W-decklids and more early parts on that series...
But I believe they changed it because they liked it this way, and not because it was a 1200 A...

Hi Jordy,

partley true. The 1200 A (build from January '67 up to Juli '67) could be ordered with a fabric sunroof but had chrome trim, '67 only decklid, standard interieur, etc. Her is a perfect, unrestored example:

http://www.netbugs.de/?/nbdispbug.php?sprache=d&snr=1632&lfdnr=1

You can read the whole story on it in the next issue of the german magazine Käfer Revue.
Cheers,

Georg

Then I guess I'm not informed correctly. Thanks for the link!
I'll ask her about the car when I see her next time. Maybe she'll go to Hannover.
I believe they're regular visitors to the Maikäfer-show, so I guess they're gonna go this time as well...

@Jordy: The picture posted here was taken at our DFL May Cruise Madness the evening before the 1st of May Show in Hannover. Are you coming this year?

@Martin: A '67 ragtop is as rare as hen's teeth – I never saw one for real. The 1200 A was build just for seven month and because it was a standard, only very few people ordered a ragtop. At that time it was 250 Deutsch Marks extra, that's around 80 GBP. The whole car cost 4485 DM (1495 GBP).
Shame you sold it...

I'd love to, but it's a 400km drive and my car really is an embarrasment. Sad It's red with two yellow front fenders, a rusty front bumper, still has a 1300 engine, I haven't been able to locate the right tires, it hasn't gone nose-down yet and I'm expecting my wheels to arrive only one week before the DFL cruisenight & Hannover treffen...
Oh and I got to get my bug through TüV, cause it hasn't passed... Grin
