That silver 356 was built by my friend Scott Sebastian in Sanger. He normally builds high dollar sand cars so this was a little unusual for him. He also builds motors and transaxles. He put an entire VW torsion housing under it with a Berg 5 speed and a VW motor. Also did all the roll cage and metal work. Bad ass. Did it really run in the 10`s?
Berg 5, sweet!! I noticed a smaller diameter pipe that ended right next to the exhaust pipe. I had never seen that before, so I peaked under the car for a better look. Wastegate pipe and hidden turbo system so it is quite possible it ran in the 10's. Any info on the engine?

Nice pic, Tim! Say, isn't that the Eiffel Tower in the background? Now, now, that would put the German's back in France. I don't think we want to start that back up.

Nice pic, Tim! Say, isn't that the Eiffel Tower in the background? Don't have pictures with Eiffel Tower (neither original nor american repro ) but here's one Luftsick car in front of Louvre (and that roofrack was for luggage)

Actually, the 356 has a 3.88 stock geared 4 speed box in it. And I believe a 2276 TBI injected turbo and intercooler. Scott transplanted a whole type 1 torsion housing into it. He was running an 11.04 at only 120 something so he was pedaling it. At Sac it had 4.5 and 8 inch Fuchs with frontrunners and slicks but I think the owner has a set of road race tires and maybe some street tires also. It is in the 356 registery and is officially the worlds quickest 356. But i`m sure its only a matter of time before its in Hot VW`s as he also has a nice black restored oval that was featured awhile back.
