I have two sets of manifolds.

DDS short and Skat trak tall

I was thinking that i could swap them over for either street use or track use.  What would be the effects and what other changes would i need?

Short = HP
Tall = TQ

I'd try it out on a dyno first to see if there are any worthwhile gains.
BTW, short DDS/Race Trim manifolds look great but are a nightmare to work around, especially without windows. So once they're in, it's doubtful you'll want to fuss with them any more Wink

I have windows, so no problems there.

You will proberly need 2 linkages as well,I cant think of any that would fit the same on short and tall manifolds using a shroud etc, do they both position the carbs the same way round?

Fit the short manifolds and use different length velocity stacks.
It's overall length of the intake tract that counts i.e. from bell mouth entry to valve seat.
Extremely high rpm engines can benefit from having the carb butterfly further away from the valve (most of the length in the m'fold, w/short stack) but in most instances a long stack/short manifold will behave the same as an equal length (overall) tall manifold/short stack combo.
