Is a sand seal necessary on a hipo vw engine?

Edit:

Here is the machine work I am thinking of for my 2 liter. I think I have covered everything but are there any other sugestions?

Bored & decked for 94mm PCs
Cut for full flow
All oil galleys drilled & tapped
Clearanced for 82 mm stroke
Lifter bores sleeved with bronze inserts and honed to proper clearance
Shuffle pinned
Cut for sand seal

Thanks,

You don't need a sand seal, keep blowby under control and you'll be fine...
