Hi everyone i've had my bug for 3 years so i thought i try and put some photographs up to share.
I had my first bug at 15 in the mid 70s and always had one up to my 30s and swore i'd never have an another Cheesy

Hi Thank's Kev ,it's  a1776 with Eagle cam,Mahle pistons ,it's VW Heritage unit off the shelf in the UK.
Bug Pack full flow with fanned oil cooler and weber carbs and fair play it runs really well.
The trans is from a GT with IRS and 1303 drums.
Front ball joint beam,Bug Pack dampers  and disc brakes.
14" Fuchs , they do make a nice coffee table though Wink
 
I'm thinking of fitting red9design coil overs or air front kit as it bounces to much for me when it's lowered .

Love the mirrors!
Thanks Modnrod ,I didn't want the gutter type so went for them from Flat Four.

If its lowered on adjusters & short hard shocks it would be worth having a ride in a bug running dropped spindles with stock length shocks before swapping to a red front end first Smiley
Is it still running a link pin beam?

Thanks for the advice, it is on adjusters and short shocks, no it's on a ball joint beam.
Just out of curiosity  would the brake callipers fit as normal on dropped spindles?

Hi Paul,

You can get ball joint dropped spindles to suit either drum or disc brakes.
Also worth remembering that standard balljoints run out of travel after being lowered past a certain point.

I've just bought a complete balljoint front end from machine 7 on a bundle deal for my '56, adjustable beam, dropped spindles, long travel balljoints etc.
Also got dropped spindles on a link pin beam on my '55.

Have a search on chat or ask the question about guys who have run with & without dropped spindles, never heard anyone with a bad word to say other than they can increase the track slightly but that comes down to the wheel offset too.
