So who's going this weekend? I think there are about 9 O/FF cars going plus some DKR. Who else?

Got some fuelling problems, but doing our best to get it sorted and 'ready'. At best, we'll be here with a completely untested car to shake down

Well I had a blast, just got home with with a lot of sunburn and new personal best of 13.12 @101 mph and the first time I've been out for two years. With a an few tweaks a bit more preparation and learning to launch properly I'm sure there a 12 in there somewhere
Special thanks to Jon Godman for helping me get there in the first place and for his help throughout he weekend, Big Pete for finding some much needed spare parts in the bottom of his tool box on Sunday night, Lucas Daglish for letting me borrow way too many bits over he weekend, Martin, lee and Harv for the advice, help and encouragement and Richie Web for building me a stonker of a engine.
Apologies for not saying goodby to everyone today but electrical charging problems with the van meant that once I got the tow van started we had to go or risk being stuck on the M40

A great weekend for most, although not so good for some. Bernie broke the motor in a pretty big way, hole in the top of the case. Peter E ran some high 11's and low 12's today, as Enzo was driving yesterday (well done on the 13.1!), dannyboy npb with 10.77, Lucas going laps with the oval, Pascal ran hard in the Wind Split until the MSD problems, Paul (happychappy on here) debuted his rather nice new car, crewed by Ian Clarke, Lee Maynard and Jim Smith. Jo andz Andy Joyner ran well in the Green Goblin, Jo getting her first 12 - well done! Hopefully the new cv joints will be the solution to the gearbox woes. Rocket Ron ran down to a 13.1 this morning, npb, Graham (Taffy Apple on here) managed a npb of 14.03 in the Bad Habit Ghia, Stretch ran some solid 13's in his oval, Colin Jardine's beautiful silver oval clicked off 11.60 again and again, just turning up for one day! Also on a one day drive to the track, race and drive home was Shane Noone, running a 12.51 on a fresh motor! Muppet Racer broke the gearbox on the first pass I believe, but Marc from Belgium ran his first 12's, culminating in a 12.86, not sure about the late model on Rivieras but it did drive out through the gates today, and the Piment Ghia ripped off a pair of 10's today. There was a green '71 there too today but I didn't see that one run! Hope I haven't missed out anyone else!

It was a pleasure Ron, you have helped me out a lot over the years and that is why I love the hobby so much. Great to catch up with everyone over the weekend, and yes I'm sunburnt too.
Thanks Neil, I may steal most/all of your event report for the outlaw site

Fantastic weekend, thanks for the hospitality guys, i had a great time just a shame i couldn't stay for todays racing! My car does seem to like the track at shakey i did try to get away from 11.60's but its never that easy!! Well done to the guys who ran PB's and good luck to those who have some repairs to sort out after the weekend!

Cheers guys
Just ordered a new battery and after a bit of reading I've realised that the mag two step was only working on the high end
Hopefully with a bit of fettling and learning to drive it properly i can get my 60ft down from nearly 1.9 to around 1.6 , things should be better next time
Regards Ron

Hi guys ,
to all those who didn't show up at Shakeys ...you really missed it all !
We had 3 days of superb sunny weather , not too warm (good for the engine) and even a little back wind !
Not too many cars on the track as there was a major venue at the Pod , so not too long waiting .
I took 0.5 sec off my last PB at Bitburg (13.3) to end up at the end of the weekend with a fabulous 12.86' !
That and some good time with our friends of the O/FF and DKR made it a perfect weekend !
See you @ Chimay
