I was down in Orange County on Classic Friday, with my motor in tow, ready for a dyno session at Head's Up Performance. I ran the motor there last year and wasn't happy with the results. It wasn't the session, it was the motor. I didn't get a chance to test the sort of things I was hoping for due to some issues I was having with the header and a rocker stud failure. Well after some time off from it I started getting it back together for another session. I got it on the dyno Friday and got it running again. I didn't change anything from last years runs figured we would start with a new baseline. The weather was almost the same, only 4 degrees warmer and the time of day was the same. On the first pull the power was within a few .10s from last years pulls. I dont mean peak power, I mean every increment from 5000-6500rpm. Roger's DTS Dyno is amazingly repeatable!!! With this kind of accuracy I was very confident that the changes I saw in power were real and not the result of some calculation or factoring.
Anyone who is down in the Fullerton area and want to dyno their motor and test different things, you would be crazy to go anywhere else.
As a side note, I would like to thank Mark Voegtly and K-Roc and Cameron from B.C. for stopping by for a minute to check out the action.........and then staying for a couple hours helping me disassemble and re-assemble my 48's a bunch of times to change things. I'll get some T-handles Darren!!!
