Been collecting parts for my next project a purpose built drag car and been looking at buying a fuel cell when I'm next in the US

Looking at his from summit racing http://www.summitracing.com/parts/jzp-250-303-01/overview/

Any comments on suitability would be great

Personally, I'm not a big fan of plastic fuel cells, although they have some advantages. For example, it's easier to change the fittings if another size is needed.

It's hard to keep them sealed up. I've had to resort to making sealing rings from a different material, and using some sort of sealant as well.

There are nice low cost aluminum cells such as this one, also available from Summit.

If you are using it on a relatively stock front end with a beam,then that shape is a real pain to fit, a cell that is more like the stock tank shape is easier to get in the space, and unless you want to drive it some distance you can use a smaller tank then that unless you use alcohol based fuels[E85,methanol etc]

yep i have this tank it was a  bugger to get to fit i had to lay it back slightly so it wouldnt foul bonnet or steering rods  but i did get it in mr webb sells some ally ones that would be a bit easier to fit  Smiley

This is the I use (except mine is bare aluminum). The front has an angled face, fittings are at the rear. Works out really well for a VW.

I think if I were going to use the vertical one, I'd position it sideways, and use the rearmost fitting for picking up the fuel

Looking at the picture I took at pats I think the flatter type tank suggested may be a better bet
